Gloria magazine published an in-depth conversation with Antonio Hase on 40 years of career. "I draw on canvas what I feel inside. It comes on its own," says the pioneer of deconstructivism who lives and works between Munich and Zagreb. He is working on a new cycle of abstract paintings and hopes to exhibit in Croatia.
The extraordinary painting "Vukovarski vodotoranj" (210 × 300 cm, acrylic on canvas) by Antonio Hase was ceremonially presented to the Vukovar City Museum on 27 March 2026. German art critic Huberts Froning described Hase's canvases as works with "deep sensory-spiritual value, before which few can remain indifferent".
On 17 February 2026, Antonio Hase donated one artwork each to the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Art Gallery of BiH. With this gift Hase enriched the cultural scene of Bosnia and Herzegovina — the country of his birth. His works are already held in private collections in Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Croatia and the USA.
HRT Glas Hrvatske reported on Antonio Hase, who painted the Croatian flag in his signature deconstructivism style to mark the 1100th anniversary of King Tomislav's coronation. The design was printed on T-shirts for Victory Day, 5 August. "I am the first to have publicly presented our flag in abstraction, and I am especially proud of that," says Hase.
The exhibition "Začarani svemir" opened on 6 March 2025 at the Oris Architecture House in Zagreb. Art historians Branka Hlevnjak and Krunoslav Kamenov spoke at the vernissage. "Hase's paintings are non-representational, full of feeling and lived experience," wrote Hlevnjak. The exhibition was organised in collaboration with the Croatian Association of Visual Artists.
Antonio Hase appeared on 7 March 2025 on the programme "Mirovinski odrezak" on Z1 Television, speaking about forty years of painting, his transition from constructivism to deconstructivism, and the influences of Emil Schumacher and Vlado Kristl. The programme was very well received by viewers.
